What's In Store?

ISSA New England is hosting Sean Edwards, Senior Solutions Architect at Verizon and former Head of Information Security at Appcues, for a deep dive into one of the most talked-about topics in the AI space right now,  agentic AI tools like Claude Code.
AI-assisted development is already inside your organization. The question is whether your team understands what it's actually doing. Sean will break down how tools like Claude Code work, what they're being used for in the real world, and most importantly what security professionals need to know before they end up in your pipelines.

What to Expect

  • What Claude Code is, how it functions, and what it's capable of
  • How AI agents operate directly in the terminal, read codebases, execute commands, and take multi-step action with minimal human intervention
  • The security implications: understanding both the risk and the opportunity

Information Forklifts: An Introduction to AI Agents, Their Capabilities, and What Security Teams Need to Know

AI-assisted development is already in your environment. Claude Code, Anthropic's agentic coding tool, and others like it, are changing how developers write, review, and ship software. These tools enable AI to operate directly in the terminal, read codebases, execute commands, and take multi-step action with minimal human intervention. For security professionals and developers alike, understanding how this technology works is no longer optional.
This session provides a practical, ground-level introduction to Claude Code: what it is, how it functions, and what it's capable of. Whether you're a developer curious about what Claude Code can do for you, or a security professional trying to stay ahead of how your teams are already using it, this session will leave you with a clear-eyed understanding of the risk — and the opportunity.
